Day 1: Pick up at the hotel, drive via Masaka to Queen Elizabeth NP, afternoon boat cruise
Begin your 4 day safari itinerary to Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Park with a delicious breakfast at your respective hotels and after, you will drive out of the city. Take the Kampala-Masaka-Mbarara-Bushenyi route in a 4×4 safari vehicle approximately 7-8 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth NP. En-route insights on this epic African safari includes a stopover at the Equator crossing and then you proceed to the park.
Check in at the pre-booked accommodation for relaxation and lunch, then you will join other guests on a memorable boat cruise. This is a 2-3 hours’ recreational experience taking you through the Kazinga channel –a natural channel that links Lake George and Lake Edward. Around the banks, enjoy clear view of hippos, crocodiles and do not forget to keep eyes on the diverse aquatic birds. Day 2: Game drive via Kasenyi & en-route game drive via Ishasha to Bwindi
On your day 2 of the 4 days safari itinerary, enjoy your early morning breakfast, after leave the lodge for an exciting game drive –navigating via the Kasenyi Plains. This will be 2-3 hours of exploring the wonders of Queen Elizabeth Park with great sightings ranging from lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, antelope families and diversity of birds.
Get back to the lodge to check out and you will proceed up to the Ishasha where a short game drive will be enjoyed. At Ishasha, look out for the unique tree climbing lions and other species. Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest.
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, proceed to the park offices with a pack of lunch. on your third day of the 4 days safari itinerary. At the park offices, meet the park official for briefing and during this session, you will get to know the safety measures to be observed while trekking with the rare mountain gorillas in the wild. The trek through Bwindi Forest in search for gorillas may run for 2-6 hours which also cover an hour for up close and personal experience, photography, etc.
Return to the lodge with the lead of an experienced park guide. You may decide to have the whole evening at the lodge while enjoying the refreshing air in the surrounding or first pay a visit to the Batwa pygmies’ community.
